NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The MIT women's lacrosse team received both individual and team academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Wednesday. The Engineers placed nine student-athletes on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll and MIT was among 383 schools across NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA to be named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify for the Academic Honor Squad, the team must have posted at least a 3.2 GPA for the academic year. The Engineers earned their 15th award courtesy of a 3.78 GPA.
