Cambridge, Mass. - The MIT men's volleyball team has been recognized by both the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for Academic Excellence. The Engineers posted a 3.74 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Engineers earned the team academic excellence award from the AVCA and UVC while also being named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, which represents the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division. MIT posted the highest team GPA in the UVC (3.76) for the spring semester and had seven student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference Team. To be named to the UVC Academic Team one must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), or 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) following the completion of the spring semester. In addition, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, display positive conduct on and off campus, and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.
