ATLANTA, Ga. – A grade point average of 3.863 on a 4.0 scale during the past academic year resulted in the MIT women's basketball team ranking second on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. This was the Engineers' highest placement in program history as they made their eighth appearance on the list. Colorado College led all Division III teams with a 3.864 GPA.
MIT has cracked the top 10 on four occasions with the previous program record being third place following the 2010-11 season. This year, the Engineers amassed a program-record and league-high 14 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team honors. On the court, MIT made the program's fourth appearance in the NEWMAC Championship and first since 2020.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
