Women’s Track and Field Named USTFCCCA Indoor/Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year; Boykin Named Indoor Scholar Field Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS – The NCAA national champion MIT women's track and field team has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year for the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field seasons, while recent graduate Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) was honored with the 2025 USTFCCCA Division III Women's Indoor Field National Scholar Athlete of the Year award.

Collectively the Engineers earned All-Academic Team honors with a team GPA of 3.632 as 17 members of the squad also earned All-Academic Athlete honors. The indoor and outdoor scholar team honors are the first in program history for MIT. Boykin, a chemistry and biology major who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.52, won both the shot put and weight throw at the 2025 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships, as she completed her MIT career following the outdoor championships as an eight-time national champion and a 16-time All-American.

Teams are required to have at least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter to qualify. Individual student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period to earn All-Academic honors. In addition, they must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals or as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS or participated in either the indoor or outdoor championships as an individual or a member of a relay.
