The MIT sailing team opened up the fall season with three races over the weekend. The Engineers faced challenging weather conditions with some races being cut short, but were able to come away with solid results.
TONI DEUTSCH TROPHY | CAMBRIDGE, Mass. | 6th and 16 of 17
- In the 'A' Division the Engineers 1 boat was handled by Brooke Barry and Christine Keedy Brown. The Engineers 2 boat featured Emma Wang, Tamsin Horne and Diba Demir. The Engineers 1 boat finished 8th with 127 points and nine top-10 finishes. The Engineers 2 boat took 13th with 150 points as they earned one win and a third-place finish.
- Karya Basaraner and Sophia Woodbury steered the Engineers 1 boat to a fifth-place finish in the 'B' Division with six top-five finishes for 90 points. Kaitlyn Beaver, Hannah Beaver and Layla Bursor led the Engineers 2 boat to a 16th-place finish with 181 points highlighted by a fourth-place finish.
- During the two days of racing the Engineers 1 boat totaled 217 points for sixth while the Engineers 2 boat totaled 331 for 16th.
HARRY ANDERSON TROPHY | NEW HAVEN, Conn. | 10th of 18
- Day one of racing was cut short due to storms.
- Robert Ulmer handled the skipper duties in the 'A' Division with Elliott Chalcraft and Ellie Pinto on the crew. They finished 8th overall with 51 points, which included a first and third place finish.
- In the 'B' Division, Will Kulas was the skipper with Pinto, Chalcraft and Ryan Hoffman as crew. They collected 61 points to finish in a tie for 11th overall. They grabbed a second and third-place finish to highlight the racing.
- Collectively MIT finished 10th overall with 112 photos.

- The Engineers 1 boat finished in seventh with 33 points. They ended the day with a second-place finish.
- The Engineers 3 boat took 12th with 42 points followed by the Engineers 2 boat in 14th with 51 points.

- MIT will compete at the NEISA Singlehanded Championships next weekend at Brown along with the Regis Trophy and Hatch Brown Trophy.
