CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 13 MIT squash team hosted No. 22 Bates College on Sunday afternoon at the Zesiger Center Squash Courts and used seven 3-0 wins to power past the Bobcats by a 9-0 score. 
 
THE BASICS:  

• Score: MIT 9, Bates 0 
• Records: MIT (8-2), Bates (1-4) 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Mitav Nayak got MIT on the board with a 3-0 (11-1, 11-0, 11-5) victory over William Veague in the nine ladder.  
• Isaac Torchinsky-Field followed with the second sweep for the day for the Engineers, defeating Rodrigo Chon Him, 11-3, 11-5, 11-7 in the fifth position.  
• John Gunton took a 3-1 win in the second position over Ashton Monteiro to put MIT up 3-0 in the match.  
• Sean-Winston Luo and Zachary Starr grabbed 3-0 wins in ladders seven and four to give the Engineers the 5-0 lead.  
• Eddie Xue notched a sweep of John Kim, 12-10, 11-3, 11-4 in the eighth ladder while Rishabh Sharma also earned a sweep in the sixth position.  
• Hyun Su Price took a 3-1 win in the top spot over Dennis Welte and Mero Elmarassy wrapped up the match with the seventh sweep of the day for the Engineers as he defeated Oscar Hecker in the third position.
