No. 5 MIT Women's Swim and Dive Wins 11 Events to take 187-112 Win Over No. 9 Tufts

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team won eleven events against No. 9 Tufts to take a 187-112 win over the Jumbos on Saturday afternoon at the Zesiger Center Pool.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

200 Yard Medley Relay: MIT finished second as the team of Amberlynn Gong, Sarah Bernard, Annika Naveen, and Ella Roberson finished in 1:44.10.
1000 Free: Christina Beggs finished second with a time of 10:28.92.
200 Yard Freestyle: Mary Feliz won in 1:50.88 followed by Jessica Crane with a time of 1:51.92.
100 Yard Backstroke: Daniela Petran won in 57.06 with Katherine Yao taking fourth in 59.62.
100 Yard Breaststroke: Sarah Bernard came in second with a time of 1:05.96 followed by Anna Li in third with a time of 1:07.14.
200 Yard Butterfly: Kathy Nie won with a time of 2:04.76 followed by Tiffany Kim, with a second-place time of 2:04.98.
50 Yard Freestyle: Naveen took the top spot in 23.81 followed by Lillian Poag in third with a mark of 24.31.
1-Meter Diving: Logan Yee won with 489.60 points followed by Fiora Beratahani with 479.40 points.
100 Yard Freestyle: Naveen took another win with a time of 52.25. Rachel Yang took seventh in 55.21.
200 Yard Backstroke: Chloe Xu finished in 2:06.82 for fourth with Gong right behind her in fifth with a time of 2:06.87.
200 Yard Breaststroke: Petran won her second event of the day in 2:21.58 and Li finished third with a time of 2:24.68.
500 Yard Freestyle: Feliz took her second win of the meet with a time of 4:59.05 with Crane in second with a time of 5:01.14.
100 Yard Butterfly: Nie earned her second victory with a time of 56.06 followed by Lauren Levy in third with a time of 57.19.
3-Meter Diving: Beratahani won with a score of 532.43 followed by Yee with a score of 510.82.
200 Yard IM: Petran took her third victory with a mark of 2:05.18 with Poag in second with a time of 2:06.73.
400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Crane, Poag, Feliz, and Naveen finished in 3:31.49 for second place.

Feliz and Crane hit B Cuts in the 200 Free. Feliz also had a B Cut in the 500 Free.
Nie earned a B Cut in the 200 Fly.
Petran hit a B Cut time in the 200 IM.
Beratahani, Yee, Emma Scott, Kailey Epstein and Maya Zavatsky all hit regional marks on the 3-Meter board.
Yee, Beratahani, Epstein, Scott, Zavatsky, Larissa Gosslau, and Caroline Laber scored NCAA Regional marks on the 1-meter.
