GREENWOOD, Ind. -- MIT football junior Dominic Hess has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025 Academic All-America® Division III Football First Team.
Hess, a native of Damascus, Maryland, adds Academic All-America honors to his AFCA All-America Second Team, New England Football Writers (NEFW) All-New England College Division Team, NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and D3football.com All-Region Second Team accolades following the 2025 season.
Hess helped the Engineers finish with a 6-3 overall record and 4-3 mark in NEWMAC play in 2025. He tied for the NEWMAC lead with five interceptions, while also recording 45 total tackles, 25 solo tackles, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He is the first MIT football student-athlete to be named to the Academic All-America® Division III First Team since Paul Calvetti '22 earned the honor in back-to-back years in 2021 and 2022.
A two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree, Hess is majoring in Mechanical Engineering & Finance at MIT, where he is a General Board member of the Sloan Business Club, Section Leader for saxophone on the Jazz Ensemble on campus, Marketing operations manager for the competitive golf club where he created the team website and dealt with merchandise operations. He has also served as Vice President (2024-25) and President (2025-26) of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and held internships with Morgan Stanley and Succeed Collectively Holdings and served as the investment analyst on student-run Hibar Capital.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division III Academic All-America® program. MIT is the all-time leader across all divisions in CSC Academic All-America® honorees, now with 473 selections.
