MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – MIT's
Pauline Vien was named the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 22. This is the second time she has received this award and the first this season.
In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, Vien totaled 28 saves, a .583 save percentage, a 10.00 goals-against average, four groundballs, and two caused turnovers. She collected 14 saves, including one with 22 seconds remaining, and two groundballs in a 10-9 victory over No. 18 University of Chicago last Tuesday. Vien followed this up with another 14-save performance and added two groundballs and two caused turnovers in a 13-11 win at Springfield College on Saturday.
MIT returns to action on Wednesday, March 25 when it travels to NEWMAC foe Salve Regina University for a 6:00 PM game.
