CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Holy Cross swept the No. 23 MIT men's heavyweight crew team in first and second varsity eight and the third varsity four races in cold condition on Saturday morning on the Charles River. The teams raced in a slight crosswind and, despite the cold, enjoyed good racing conditions.  

The race of the day was the second varsity eight, where the MIT 2V nearly matched the speed of the Engineers' top boat in finishing less than two seconds behind Holy Cross. Despite the losses, the MIT boats rowed well and showed the team's, particularly among its younger rowers.  

VARSITY EIGHT (1V+): 

• Results: 2nd of 2 (6:15.128) 
• Lineup: C. Arnav Aggarwal; 8. Nielsen Euvrard; 7. James Cabot; 6. Harrison Scarrow; 5. Drake Elliott; 4. Calvin Hrycay; 3. August Berne; 2. Jonathan Wang; 1. Rainer Arendt   
• In the 1V race, MIT led for 500 meters and was close to Holy Cross at the midpoint, but the Crusaders' power showed over the second half of the race as the final margin in favor of Holy Cross was seven seconds. 

SECOND VARSITY EIGHT (2V+): 

• Results: 2nd of 3 (6:15.563)

• The 2V race was close all the way, with Holy Cross pulling ahead by a seat in the last 500 meters.
