CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT women's openweight crew team took second in the Varsity Eight race on Saturday on the Charles River, defeating Holy Cross but falling to Bucknell as the teams raced in cold conditions with a slight crosswind on the Charles River. 

VARSITY 8: 

• Results: 2nd of 3 (6:56.824)

• Bucknell set the pace in the varsity eight race, finishing nearly nine seconds ahead of second place MIT. The Engineers trailed Bucknell but had a seven second edge on third place Holy Cross.
