CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Nate Toth of the MIT men's volleyball team has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Player of the Week for the week concluding April 14.
Toth is the second Engineer to earn the award this season, joining Braeden Baker who won it on March 10. Overall, Toth is now the fourth Engineer to earn this award.
The first-year was named the UVC Player of the Week after earning the UVC Tournament MVP after helping the Engineers win the program's first UVC Title. Toth totaled 40 kills, 25 digs, and three aces while hitting .352. He had 22 kills in the Engineers 3-1 win over NYU and followed with 18 against New Paltz in the Championship.
With the championship win, the Engineers earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2014 and will play St. Joseph's (Long Island) in the play-in match on Thursday, April 16 at 4:00 PM in Hoboken, N.J. on the campus of Stevens.
