WORCESTER, Mass. -- The MIT women's openweight crew team captured the MIT/BC Cup for the second consecutive season as the Engineers earned a runner-up performance in the varsity eights racing against Boston College, UMass, UConn, Sacred Heart and host Holy Cross on Saturday on Lake Quinsigamond. 

VARSITY 8 (V8+):  

• Results: 2nd of 6 (6:32.0) 
• Lineup: C. Michelle Peng; 8. Kayla Robertson; 7. Lucy Greenup; 6. Emma Hopkins; 5. Brooke Birdsall; 4. Shriya Thakur; 3. Madeleine Laws; 2. Darin Wilkowski; 1. Elizabeth Jackson 
• UMass took the top spot in the varsity eights (6:29.5) by 2.5 seconds over the Engineers but MIT had a 2.8-second edge on the third-place Eagles to claim the cup. UConn was fourth (6:40.5), Sacred Heart fifth (6:43.2) and Holy Cross took sixth (6:44.7). 
• MIT has now claimed the MIT/BC Cup in each of the past two seasons after winning it last season for the first time since 2022. 

SECOND VARSITY 8 (2V8+): 

• Results: 5th of 6 (07:03.7)
