DELAWARE, Ohio - On the final day of the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, all three members of the MIT women's outdoor track and field team that competed in individual events and the 4x100 relay earned All-America honors. Overall, the Engineers tied for 13th place with 16 points, improving greatly on their 39th place finish at last year's Championships.

Tech got off to a strong start when junior Tilly Taylor (South Deerfield, Mass.) threw a 145-08 in the javelin, a person best by almost 10 feet, to earn All-America honors and a new MIT record with a fifth place finish. Senior Martina de Geus (Los Altos, Calif.) picked up All-America accolades for the first time in her career when she came seventh in the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 10:40.37.

Freshman Maryann Gong (Livermore, Calif.) was MIT's final individual competitor. She ran a personal best time in the 5000-meter, crossing the line in 16:43.28 to take eighth place, finishing just six-tenths of a second ahead of Lenore Moreno of La Verne University. She also broke the MIT freshman and varsity records in the process.

In the 4x100 relay, which was composed of senior Jackie Brew (Amherst, N.H.), junior Veronica Szklarzewski (Chicago, Ill.), freshman Kendra Knittel (Tucson, Ariz.), and senior Jaclyn Konopka (Novi, Mich.) came eighth with a time of 48.18.
