Women's ACC's Round 1A - (5th of 16 – 199 points)
- A Division (11th of 16, 132 points): Seniors Kaila Pfrang (Portland, Ore.) and Maile Jim (Honolulu, Hawaii) helped steer MIT to an 11th-place finish, just missing a top-10 finish by three points.
- B Division (3rd of 16, 67 points): The Engineer boat that was commanded by senior Dana Haig (Beach Haven, N.J.) and junior Grace Mao (Overland Park, Kan.) held off the Boston College boat to finish in third, two points ahead of the Eagles. MIT finished six-points behind the second-place boat of the University of Pennsylvania.
Lark Invite – (Engineers 1 - 2nd of 20 – 59 points, Engineers 2 – 13th of 20, 135 points)
The Engineers 1 finished just one-point behind Harvard for the top spot overall.
Engineers 1
- A Division (1st, 28 points): The boat of juniors Crew Fritsch (Coronado, Calif.) and Wendy Wu (Andover, Mass.) steered the Engineers to victory as they held off second-place finisher Harvard, besting the Crimson by six points.
- B Division (2nd, 31 points): First-years Brooke Schmelz (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) and Mercedes Escandon (Brick, N.J.) steered the boat to an impressive second-place finish and held off the Tufts boat which finished four points behind the Engineers.
Engineers 2
- A Division (12th, 70 points): MIT earned the 12th place finish after finishing in a tie with Northeastern as the Engineers had more high-place finishes (7). The team of first-year Max Katz-Christy (Cambridge, Mass.) and sophomore Sophie Yang (Wynnewood, Pa.) guided the boat.
- B Division (13th, 65 points): The boat commanded by sophomore Jemma Schroder (Menlo Park, Calif.) and junior Brianna Ryan (Kapaa, Hawaii) guided MIT to the 13th-place finish, narrowly holding off Tufts as the Jumbos finished one-point behind the Engineers.
Danmark Trophy – (16th of 20, 324 points)
- A Division (17th of 20, 178 points): The crew of senior John Ped (Portland, Ore.), senior Alex Abate (Kemah, Texas) and junior Abby VanLonkhuyzen (Yarmouth, Maine) helped steer the Engineer boat which finished just six-points behind the Stanford boat in 16th.
- B Division (15th of 20, 146 points): Sophomore Sam Bruce (Severna Park, Md.) and senior Suparnamaaya Prasad (Yorktown, Va.) guided the boat which finished four points ahead of Fordham and six-points behind Boston University for 14th-place.
UP NEXT:
The Engineers are back in the water next weekend and will be competing in three events. MIT will host the Smith Trophy and will also send boats to the Stu Nelson Trophy and the Coed Atlantic Coast Championship Qualifier.
