Football Leads the Way With 49 on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

Westwood, Mass. (November 17) -- A league-leading 49 members of the MIT football team have been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, 167 student-athletes were honored across the league.
 
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2021 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The Engineers have 19 two-time selections and nine three-time honorees, along with two four-time Academic All-Conference picks with Spencer Hylen (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) and Mark Wright (Fort Worth, Texas).
 
MIT concluded the 2021 season with a 5-4 overall record as the Engineers posted their fourth straight winning season.
