HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Engineers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as senior Miller Geschke (Los Altos, Calif.) found classmate Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif) who beat the Sagehens keeper at 7:04.

- Pomona then went on a 10-0 run before Sandell took a pass from first-year Richard Yun (Irvine, Calif.) and fired the ball into the back of the net to end the Sagehens' run.

- MIT scored two more goals with Yun getting his first of the game at 3:58 in the third followed by Geschke setting up senior John Steele (Old Greenwich, Conn.) with 44 seconds left in the third to make it a 10-4 game.

- A 3-0 run by the home team made it a nine-goal game, but Geschke got the ball past the keeper to pull MIT to within eight.

- Sophomore Evan Kowal (South Pasadena, Calif.) got MIT another goal at 2:17 while Yun netted his second with 45 seconds remaining in the match as Pomona took the game by a 13-7 score.
