The Lead: Senior
Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif) led the way for the MIT Engineers scoring a total of 12 goals as MIT split its two games at the Bruno Classic on Sunday afternoon, which was hosted by Harvard University.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE vs. Austin College:
Â
- MIT pulled out to an early 3-1 lead on two goals by
Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif.) and another by
Jack King (
Los Alton, Calif.). Austin then scored three straight to take a 4-3 advantage but with 1:08 remaining in the first quarter,
Richard Yun (Irvine, Calif.) scored to tie the game.
- The second quarter remained a tightly contested before MIT went on a 3-0 to pull ahead 9-6 on a goal by senior
Kaden Dimarco (Eugene, Ore.).
- Austin tied the match in the third on back-to-back goals, however, the Engineers responded, scoring the next five goals to pull ahead 14-9.
- The Engineers added two more goals, by Dimarco and
John Steele (Old Greenwich, Conn.) to secure the 16-11 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Sandell led the way for MIT with five goals in the contest while King followed with three goals in the game.
Â
- Yun, Dimarco and
Miller Geschke (Los Alton, Calif.) all finished the game with two goals apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO vs. Wagner:
Â
- Sandell opened the scoring for the Engineers at 6:38 and followed with another goal at 6:04. Wagner scored the next three to pull ahead 4-2. Geschke stopped the Wagner run with a goal with 26 seconds remaining in the quarter.

- A 7-0 run by the Seahawks made it a 11-3 contest and Sandell once again stopped the run with a score at 1:16 in the second.
Â
- Wagner continued to hold off Sandell and the Engineers in the final two quarters, despite three more scores from Sandell.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Â
- Sandell led the way yet again for the Engineers with seven goals in the contest. The seven goals scored is a new career-best for the senior.
