Water Polo to Compete at USA Water Polo Division III National Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT water polo team has been selected to compete in this weekend's USA Water Polo Division III  National Championship. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps will host the championship at Axelrood Pool in Claremont, Calif. Joining the Engineers and CMS will be Pomona-Pitzer and Augustana. 
  
The first semifinal on Saturday, December 6 will feature the top-seeded Stags against fourth-seeded Vikings at 12:00 PM PT/9:00 AM ET followed by the third-seeded Engineers against second-seed Sagehens at 2:00 PM PT/11:00 AM ET. The third-place match will be on Sunday, December 7 at 10:00 AM PT/7:00 AM EST with the championship to follow at 12:00 PM PT/9:00 AM EST. 
  
Tickets can be purchased online. Pricing is as follows: 

  • Adults - $12 
  • Kids Under 10 – Free 
  • All Weekend Pass - $20 
     

The Engineers enter the tournament with an 8-20 record and will be making their sixth appearance in the Championship. They are the only team to qualify for every USA Collegiate Division III Men's Water Polo Championship, which began in 2019.
