Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) and
Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) of the MIT men's tennis team competed in both singles and doubles action at the ITA Regionals that were hosted in Brunswick, Maine on the campus of Bowdoin College.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN DOUBLES ACTION:
- In the round of 64 Shen and Papacica took down
Harry Portnoy and
Max Lustgarten of Wesleyan, 8-6. The duo fell in the round of 32 to ninth-seed
Sujit Chepuri and
Jakob Esterowitz of Amherst, 8-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN SINGLES ACTION:
- Papacica fell to Chepuri in the round of 64, 6-3, 6-2.
- After dropping the first set against
Nathan Jackson of Middlebury, Shen took the next two sets, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the round of 32.
- In the round of 32, Shen fell to
Harrison Collomb of Wesleyan in straight-sets, 7-5, 6-3.
