HOW IT HAPPENED:
-
Set 1: The Engineers led wire-to-wire in the opening set as they jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead. Back-to-back kills from sophomore

-
Set 2: The Lions took an early 5-3 lead before kills from Johnson and junior
Brett Allen (San Jose, Calif.) tied the set. The teams would exchange points before Emerson scored three of four to force an MIT timeout. Out of the break, the Engineers rattled off five straight points to pull ahead by three as they would lead the rest of the set as a kill from Johnson gave them the 25-15 set two victory.
-
Set 3: MIT took control early jumping out to a 13-1 lead off back-to-back aces from sophomore
