- Records: MIT (11-6), Concordia (8-8)

- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Rockwell Cage)

- The Lead: The MIT men's volleyball team earned a decisive 3-0 win over visiting Concordia Wisconsin on Thursday night at Rockwell Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Set 1: MIT went on a 5-0 run on the serve of junior Nicholas Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) to pull ahead 15-8 with junior Brett Allen (San Jose, Calif.) recording two kills during the run. A 4-1 Falcons run made it a 17-12 contest, but the visitors could not get much closer as a kill from sophomore Phillip Johnson (Chandler, Ariz.) gave MIT the 25-16 win.

- Set 2: A kill from sophomore Max Turner (Chandler, Ariz.) gave MIT a 15-10 advantage to force a Falcons timeout. Out of the break, MIT went up 21-16 but a 4-1 Falcons run got them to within two. An Engineers attacking error made it a one-point contest at 23-22, but MIT held on to win set two, 25-23.

- Set 3: MIT raced out to a 10-4 lead, but the Falcons pulled to within four at 14-10 to force an MIT timeout. The two teams went back-and-forth during the middle part of the set as a kill from Gustafson made it a 22-19 MIT advantage, and the Engineers held on for the 25-22 win to take the match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Gustafson led MIT with 14 kills and seven digs while Allen added nine kills.

- Turner finished with 34 assists in the three-set match.
