HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Set 1: SJF used a 5-0 run to take a 15-6 lead before a kill from junior Jack Yurkanin (New Lenox, Ill.) ended the run. With the score 16-7, the Engineers scored four of the next five points to make it a 17-11 set, but the Cardinals held on for the 25-16 win.

- Set 2: The Engineers used a 4-0 run to take a 9-7 lead before SJF responded with a 4-0 run of its own to go up 11-9. MIT then scored the next four to regain the lead at 13-11. The teams went back-and-forth until with the set tied at 21, the Cardinals scored four of the next six to win the set 25-23.

- Set 3: Trailing 12-11, the Engineers scored six of the next 10 points to take a 17-15 lead. SJF used a 4-0 run late in the set to tie the set at 24 but MIT scored the next two points as a Yurkanin kill gave MIT the 26-24 win.

- Set 4: The Cardinals used a 6-1 run to go up 16-11 but the Engineers slowly chipped away and back-to-back kills from junior Dylan Ryan (Oviedo, Fla.) and Yurkanin got MIT to within two at 22-20, but the Cardinals held on to win the set 25-21.
