Men's Tennis Falls to Bryant, 5-4

THE BASICS:
 
- Score: Bryant - 5 MIT - 4
 
- Records: MIT (2-1), Bryant (6-12)
 
- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble)
 
- The Lead: After falling behind 2-1 after doubles play, the MIT men's tennis team rallied in singles but eventually fell to Division I Bryant, 5-4.
 


HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- First-year Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) secured the lone doubles win for the Engineers, defeating Grant Pertile and Andrew Pregel by an 8­-7 score.
 
- In No. 1 singles, junior Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) took down Nick Lorenz in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-4) and junior Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) also secured a three-set win in No. 6 singles with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 win.
 
- The Engineers got straight-set wins by junior Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) (6-3, 7-5) in the third position.

- MIT stays at home as the team will host Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday, March 9 at 4 p.m.
