Sailing Wraps Up Weekend with Two Top-Five Finishes

The Lead: The MIT sailing team competed in four races over the weekend, grabbing top-five finishes at the Oberg Trophy and the Central Series Four Race.
 
2022 NEISA WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP | Brunswick, Maine | 8th of 15 (241 points)
 
- MIT recorded 130 points in the A races and followed with 111 in the B races. Overall the Engineers secured eight top-five finishes including one win in race 15A.
 
SPRING OBERG TROPHY | Cambridge, Mass. | 4th of 10 (212 points)
 
-  The Engineers finished just four points behind Brown for third place. The Engineers led the way in the C races posting 44 points while scoring 94 in the B races and 74 in the A races.
 
- MIT grabbed three top-two finishes in the last four races of the day.

THOMPSON TROPHY | New London, Conn. | 9th of 15 (361 points)

- MIT finished with 133 points in both the A and B division races and scored 95 points in the C division race.

CENTRAL SERIES FOUR | Medford, Mass. | 3rd of 16 (56 points)

- MIT finished two points out of second-place Salve Regina. The Engineers won three races while grabbing a total of six top-three finishes on the day.

UP NEXT:

- MIT returns to action next week as the women's team will compete in the 2022 Women's Team Race National Championship at Brown while other sailors will be taking to the water at the Morris Trophy and the Boston Dinghy Club Cup.
