Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) was named the tournament's most outstanding player.

- After falling behind 1-0 in doubles, first-year
Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomoreÂ
Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) took an 8-4 win in two doubles to even up the score. After trailing for a portion of the match in three doubles, first-year
Carl-Herman Grant (Oslo, Norway) and first-year
Daniel Antov (Austin, Texas) rallied to win the match 8-7 and give the Engineers a 2-1 lead heading into singles.

- Sophomore
Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) won in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and a 6-4, 6-2 win by junior
Richter Jordaan (Denver, Colo.) in five singles left MIT needing just one more victory for the Championship. That win came in No. 6 singles from Grossman who pulled out a three-set win, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 for the win.
