- The Lead: On Saturday afternoon at the University of Rhode Island, the MIT men's track and field team posted 15 top-10 event finishes and were led by a win in the 60-meter hurdles from senior
Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Wei came into the 60-meter hurdles as the top seed and qualified for the final with a prelim time of 8.27 seconds. First-year
Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) also made the final as he ran a prelim time of 8.40 seconds. In the final, Wei won in a time of 8.19 seconds and Ellis finished sixth at 8.56 seconds.

Jackson Bliey (Wilmington, Del.) took third in the high jump and is now third in the country as he posted a clearance of six feet, 8.75 inches.

Nathan Shapiro (Glenview, Ill.) finished second in the long jump and now ranks 12th nationally with a leap of 23 feet, 0.5 inches. First-year
Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) was second in the triple jump, posting a distance of 45 feet, 10 inches.

Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) posted a pair of top-10 finishes as he was third in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw. He finished with a throw of 52 feet, 10 inches in the shot put and 51 feet, seven inches in the weight throw. In addition, senior
Bryan Sperry (San Diego, Calif.) placed fifth in the pole vault as he cleared a height of 14 feet, 3.25 inches.

Jeremiah Budiman (Plano, Texas) was second in the prelims in a time of 6.96 seconds in the 60 meters and dropped to 6.95 seconds to place fourth in the final. First-year
Patrick Haertel (Cumming, Ga.) narrowly missed the final as he placed ninth overall at 7.07 seconds. In the 200 meters, first-year
Nolan Clement (Fullerton, Calif.) crossed in fourth overall as he ran a time of 22.67 seconds.

- A pair of Engineers finished in the top 10 in the 400 meters as first-year
Jack DeBaugh (Severna Park, Md.) was fifth in 51.81 seconds, followed by senior
Evan Schaefer (Frederick, Md.) in sixth at 52.28 seconds. In the 800, graduate student
Matthew Schofield (Shorewood, Ill.) crossed in fifth with a time of 1:59.42 as he was joined at 10th by first-year
Jared Steins (Chino Hills, Calif.) in 2:03.27.
