- The Lead: At the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the River Hawk Invitational, the No. 13 ranked MIT women's track and field team posted seven top-20 nationally-ranked marks over the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT THE TRACK AT NEW BALANCE:

- In the 800 meters, junior
Julia Howarth (Barrington, R.I.) finished fourth overall with a time of 2:16.29 to rank No. 11 in the country. In the 200, first-year
Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) placed 20th in a time of 26.13 seconds, while the Engineers had a pair of top-20 finishers in the 400. Sophomore
Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.) crossed in 12th with a time of 59.65 seconds, with junior
Madeline Hon (Manhasset, N.Y.) finishing 18th at 1:00.11.

- In the high jump, first-year
Katie Kempff (St. Charles, Ill.) placed eighth by clearing five feet, three inches, while first-year
Hailey Surace (Snohomish, Wash.) was 20th in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet, 0.5 inches.

Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) was 10th in the triple jump at 35 feet, 7.75, along with a 16th-place finish by senior
Laena Tieng (Kent, Wash.) with a leap of 34 feet, 9.5 inches.

- Sophomore
Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) continued her outstanding season as she was second in the weight throw and third in the shot put. In the weight throw, she posted a toss of 58 feet, 4.75 inches to go with her throw of 42 feet, 11.75 inches in the shot.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT BU:

- In the mile, the Engineers had five runners all run times within the top-30 in the country. Junior
Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) led the way with the No. 2 time in the nation at 4:54.37. Junior
Olivia Rosenstein (Urbana, Ill.) was next up and is 15th in the country at 4:59.91, with junior
Sarah Bentley (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) at No. 22 in a time of 5:02.06. First-year
Lexi Fernandez (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) was right behind Bentley at 5:02.10 to rank 10th in the country, along with sophomore
Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) at 29th nationally in 5:02.96.

- The 4x400 relay of Hon, junior
Paige Cooksey (Ormond Beach, Fla.), Miller and Howarth finished sixth overall and is fourth in the country as they crossed in a time of 3:51.84. That time was just over two seconds from the MIT school record that was set in 2012.

- In the 400 meters, Cooksey was 12th overall and is ranked 11th in the nation with her time of 57.26 seconds. First-year
Krystal Montgomery (San Jose, Calif.) ran a time of 2:19.24 in the 800 meters, while junior
Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) crossed in 2:26.35. First-year
Stella Gassman (Larchmont, N.Y.) was 34th overall in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:11.75.

- In the final race of the weekend, the Engineers had four runners all run times that rank in the top-25 nationally in the 5,000 meters. First-year
Katherine Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) finished second in her heat and 15th overall in a time of 17:14.15 to rank No. 10 nationally. Junior
Archana Mohandas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was fourth in her heat, 17th overall and is 12th in the country with a time of 17:15.32. Senior
Anna Haddad (Tacoma, Wash.) finished eighth in her heat and is No. 21 in the country at 17:42.15, followed in ninth by senior
Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) at 17:44.62 as she is 23rd in the nation.
