Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
- Sophomore

Â
- Sophomore
Julianne Flusche (Ridgewood, N.J.) increased the Engineers' advantage to 9-0 when she connected on a pass from Gambino 20 seconds into the second quarter and then Flusche converted a free-position shot with a player advantage at the 8:28 mark. Simmons ended the shutout 39 seconds later courtesy of a solo strike by
Cameron Richards. Stoller quickly followed with an unassisted goal and a free-position marker and then
Marita Nothacker buried a player advantage free-position shot, trimming the deficit to 9-4, with 3:43 on the clock. MIT replied with goals from Flusche, Pyon, and first year
Ashley Thomas (Summit, N.J.) to reestablish a comfortable cushion at halftime.
Â
- The Engineers carried the momentum into the second half as they rattled off nine straight goals spanning the third and fourth quarters as a free-position shot by Pyon made the score 21-4 with 5:28 left to play. Simmons ended its scoring drought when
