The Lead: The MIT men's tennis team dropped a pair of 7-2 decisions to No. 22-ranked Sewanee and Birmingham-Southern on Saturday in Georgia. The Engineers fell behind 3-0 after doubles in both matches and then won two singles matches against both opponents.

Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) won No. 2 singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over
Peyton Erck. Senior
Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) also claimed victory at the No. 6 position with a 6-2, 6-4 win over
Talman Ramsey. Grossman improved his team-leading singles record to 9-3 on the season.

Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) nearly pulled off the victory at No. 2 doubles, but ultimately fell 8-6. Kahler battled hard at No. 1 singles, forcing a third set with
Jordan Theron, but lost 6-4, 6-7, 10-4.

Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) won No. 2 singles with a marathon 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 victory over
Ryan King.

Benjamin Ebanks (New York City, N.Y.) won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 singles over
Tom Smith to pick up the Engineers' other victory in singles action.
