Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) and three top-10 national marks for the Engineers, the No. 7 ranked MIT women's track and field team competed at the Amherst Spring Fling on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Boykin swept the shot put, discus and hammer throw on Saturday, including a school record by six feet, 11 inches in the discus. She won the discus by over 45 feet, while taking first in the put by almost eight feet with a throw of 45 feet, 0.5 inches. Her mark in the discus is currently ranked second in the country.

- In the hammer throw, Boykin posted a mark of 165 feet, 11 inches and is No. 16 in the nation in that event. Sophomore
Emily Ball (Des Moines, Iowa) was second in the hammer with her toss of 147 feet, 11 inches.

- First-year
Elaine Wang (West Des Moines, Iowa) won the javelin with a throw of 127 feet, 11 inches, with Ball right behind her in third at 119 feet, 10 inches. In the triple jump, first-year
Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) was second at 36 feet, 6.25 inches, while senior
Laena Tieng (Kent, Wash.) finished fourth at 36 feet, 2.25 inches. Tieng was also fourth in the long jump as she posted a leap of 16 feet, 10.75 inches.

Katie Kempff (St. Charles, Ill.) won the high jump with a leap of five feet, 2.25 inches. Junior
Tolu Akinbo (Naperville, Ill.) was fourth at five feet, 0.25 inches. First-year
Hailey Surace (Snohomish, Wash.) placed second in the pole vault as she cleared 11 feet, 3.75 inches.

- On the track, sophomore
Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.) ran a PR of 57.45 as she won the 400 meters and is ranked eighth nationally. Senior
Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:52.39 and is ninth in the country.

Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) ran a PR of 25.86 seconds to finish second in the 200, while crossing in third in the 100 meters at 12.44 seconds.

- In the 1,500, both first-year
Lexi Fernandez (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) and senior
Kirsi Rajagopal (Harrison, N.Y.) ran personal-bests as they finished second and fifth, respectively. Fernandez finished in 4:40.38 and she was followed by Rajagopal at 4:42.94.

Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:16.22, along with sophomore
Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) in fifth with a PR of 2:18.83.
