Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.) won three events as the fifth-ranked MIT women's swimming and diving team went across the river for a meet against Division I Boston University. The Engineers fell the BU, 185-115.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Augustyn won three events during the meet and was a member of the second-place 200-medley relay team. Augustyn won the 200-yard free by almost two seconds as she touched the wall in 1:51.52. She also captured the 200 IM by almost two seconds with a time of 2:03.57. In the 200-back, she improved on her national best time in the event with a winning time of 1:58.14.
- Graduate student
Edenna Chen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.30. She followed with a victory in the 200-breast with a time of 2:21.55.
- First-year
Kailey Simons (Williston Park, N.Y.) led the way for the Engineers in the 100-butterfly with her third-place finish (56.73). She was followed in fourth by sophomore
Lauren Levy (Amherst, N.Y.) who posted a time of 56.96.
- First-year
Fiora Beratahani (San Jose, Calif.) won the one-meter board with a score of 302.63. She recorded 272.70 points on the three-meter for a fourth-place finish.

- The Engineers will host two top-10 teams on Friday, January 26th at 2 p.m. when No. 4 NYU and No. 7 Williams come to the Zesiger Center Pool.
