CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT women's lightweight crew team competed in the Lightweight Fours and Lightweight Eights on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River. The Engineers finished seventh in the Lightweight Fours and sixth in the Lightweight Eights events.

THE BASICS: 

• Women's Lightweight Fours: 7th of 9 
• Women's Lightweight Eights: 6th of 8 

RACE BY RACE: 

• MIT's lightweight 4+ was strong and consistent through the Engineers home course, finishing with a time of 19:52.194. MIT was 1:23.623 back of the pace set by the University of Wisconsin.
• MIT's Lightweight 8+ was especially strong through the second half of the course in the Women's Lightweight Eights to secure a sixth-place finish in 17:10.819. The Engineers tracked as the seventh fastest time past both the Riverside and Weld Boathouses but made a push to the finish to take sixth place.
