The Lead: The MIT women's track and field team recorded six top-six finishes, including a trio of victories, at the Springfield College Triangle Classic on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the third week in a row, junior
Emily Ball (Des Moines, Iowa) swept the shot put and weight throw. She recorded a PR in the shot put with a distance of 13.24m (43' 5.25") and won the weight throw with a mark of 16.31 (53' 6").
- In the pole vault, sophomore
Katelyn Howard (Lake Oswego, Ore.) finished first and equaled her PR of 3.70m (12' 1.75"). Sophomore
Tessa Baker (Reno, Nev.) also set a PR as she cleared 3.25m (10' 8").
- Sophomore
Katie Kempff (St. Charles, Ill.) was the runner up in the high jump as she cleared 1.56m (5' 1.5"). She also finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.05m (16' 6.75") on her last attempt.
