- The Lead: For the first time in program history, the MIT women's swim and dive team has won a National Championship in a relay as the Engineers 200-Yard Medley Relay team took the top spot to highlight a great day in the pool on day one of the 2024 NCAA Swim and Dive Championships.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
200 Yard IM
- Junior Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.) recorded her third All-American honor in the event with her fifth-place finish.
- She finished just .05 seconds behind Sammi Thiele of Austin College in fourth.
- Augustyn shaved almost two seconds off her prelim time.
50 Free
- First year Ella Roberson (Midland, Mich.) earned her first All-American honor with her fourth-place finish in the 50-Free.
- She cut almost a second off her prelim time.

200 Yard Medley Relay
- The Engineers held off a late charge from Denison to earn the first relay title in program history with a school record time of 1:39.67.
- Augustyn led off the relay followed by graduate student Edenna Chen (Colorado Springs, Colo.), sophomore Annika Naveen (Wynnewood, Pa.), and Roberson.
- Augustyn earned her 15th All-American honor and third in the event. Chen notched her fourth All-American honor in the event and 16th overall. Naveen and Roberson are now two-time All-Americans.Â

- Day two begins with prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m. The Engineers are scheduled to compete in the 200-Free Relay, 400 IM, 200 Free, 1 Meter Diving, and the 400 Yard Medley Relay.
