Women’s Track and Field Posts Victories and Personal Records at Tufts and Raleigh Relays

THE BASICS:
 
- Meets: Raleigh Relays and Tufts Snowflake Classic
 
- Locations: Raleigh, N.C. (Paul Derr Track & Field Facility) and Medford, Mass. (Ellis Oval)
 
- The Lead: The MIT women's track and field team won two events at the Tufts Snowflake Classic while a pair of personal records were established during the final day of the Raleigh Relays on Saturday.
 
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS – RALEIGH RELAYS:
 
- Junior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) ranked 11th in the hammer throw with a distance of 54.45m (178' 7").
 
- The 4x400 relay, comprised of junior Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.), senior Paige Cooksey (Ormond Beach, Fla.), junior Olivia Dias (East Taunton, Mass.), and senior Julia Howarth (Barrington, R.I.), finished 14th with a time of 3:46.69.
 
- Cooksey placed 16th in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:02.81.
 
- Howarth ranked 61st in the 800m as she logged a personal record of 2:11.08.
 
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS – TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC:
 
- First-year Macy Brennan (Westlake, Ohio) won the discus with a throw of 36.57m (120' 0") while sophomore Elaine Wang (West Des Moines, Iowa) was victorious in the javelin as she recorded a mark of 38.62m (126' 8").
 
- Below are the current top-20 rankings for the Engineers, from meets up to this point in the season as listed at www.tfrrs.org.
