The Lead: The MIT men's track and field team captured the program's 22nd all-time NEWMAC title with a 77-point victory over runner-up Springfield College at the 2024 NEWMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Engineers have now won all 22 NEWMAC Championships that they have competed in.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS – TOP TWO FINISHERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS:
- Junior
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) won the discus throw with a 50.79m (166' 07") and placed second in the shot put with a 16.65m (54' 7.50") mark to accumulate 18 team points for the Engineers. First-year
Justin Buonato (Horsham, Pa.) also finished third in the shot put with a mark of 14.30m (46' 11").
- MIT dominated the high jump with 23 team points, led by a 1-2 finish from sophomore
Jackson Bliey (Talleyville, Del.) and first-year
Anthony Meng (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Bliey posted the fifth-best jump in NCAA Division III this season with a 2.07m (6' 9.50") while Meng finished with a 2.04m (6' 8.25"). Senior
Spencer Yandrofski (Mebane, N.C.) finished fourth with a mark of 1.98m (6' 6.00").
- The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore
Nolan Clement (Fullerton, Calif.), graduate student
Mozi Guobadia (Baton Rouge, La.), senior
Will Liu (San Marino, Calif.), and senior
Garrett Whitmore (Webster City, Iowa) recorded the 12th fastest time in the country with a 41.25 to take the title.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore
Conrad Casebolt (Aurora, Colo.), as well as first-years
Davis Lee (Mountain Brook, Ala.),
David Whitaker (Northville, Mich.), and
Connor Sterling (New Milford, Conn.) won in a time of 3:21.87.
- Graduate student
Kenneth Wei (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) and junior
Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) went 1-2 in the 110m hurdles. Wei posted the 12th best time in the country with a 14.37, while Truitt finished in 14.44.
- Junior
Ian Koe (San Mateo, Calif.) won the 400m in a personal-best time of 48.28. He also placed second in the 200m with another personal-best time of 21.62.
- Guobadia finished as the runner-up in the 100m dash with a time of 10.87.
- Junior
Pablo Arroyo (Richardson, Texas) placed second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:27.64.
- Junior
Sam Coutts (Pacific Grove, Calif.) placed second in the 1500m in a time of 3:57.06, while first-year
Jaxon Miller (Goshen, Ind.) was fourth in a time of 3:58.75.
- Sophomore
Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) was second in the triple jump with a distance of 13.90 (45' 7.25").
- Senior
Henry Hardart (Annapolis, Md.) placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 1:54.90.
