The Lead: The MIT women's track and field team won its third straight and the program's 15th all-time NEWMAC title with a 128.5-point victory over runner-up WPI at the 2024 NEWMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS – TOP TWO FINISHERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS:
- Junior
Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.) accounted for 20 points on her own by taking the 200m title with the fourth-fastest time in the country this season with a time of 24.48. She was edged out for the 100m dash crown, finishing second with a time of 12.27. Miller also was on the second place-finishing 4x100 meter relay team.
- MIT dominated the 400m run, sweeping the top three spots, led by senior
Paige Cooksey (Ormond Beach, Fla.) blistering her way to the sixth fastest time in the country this year with a 55.93. Senior
Julia Howarth (Barrington, R.I.) was second with the 15th fastest time in the nation (56.46) as senior
Madeline Hon (Manhasset, N.Y.) rounded out the podium in third place with a time of 58.70.
- MIT's 4x400 meter relay team won by 10 seconds with Howarth, Cooksey, Hon and sophomore
Krystal Montgomery (San Jose, Calif.) finishing with a time of 3:51.54.
- The Engineers scored 19 points in the high jump with senior
Tolu Akinbo (Naperville, Ill.), sophomore
Katie Kempff (St. Charles. Ill.), and junior
Amalia Christina Toutziaridi (Athens, Greece) placing second (1.62m / 5' 3.75"), third (1.57m / 5' 1.75"), and fourth (1.52m / 4' 11.74").
- Juniors
Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) and
Emily Ball (Des Moines, Iowa) placed first and second in the shot put with throws of 14.99m (49' 2.25") and 12.73m (41' 9.25"). Ball won the discus with a throw of 44.95m (147' 5"), while first-year
Macy Brennan (Westlake, Ohio) was the runner-up with a toss of 39.53 (129' 8").
- Sophomore
Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) won the triple jump with the 13th farthest mark in the country this season at 12.05m (39' 6.50").
- The Engineers scored 17 points in the 1500m run led by podium finishes for sophomore
Lexi Fernandez (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) and junior
Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.). Fernandez was the runner-up with a personal-best 4:30.58 for the ninth fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. Crow was third with a time 4:38.72, while first-year
Megan Diulus (Akron, Ohio) placed sixth in a time of 4:44.74
- Montgomery, sophomore
Erin Hovendon (Laurel Park, Mass.), and senior
Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) finished third, fourth and fifth respectively to garner 15 points in the 800m run. Montgomery crossed the line in 2:17.44, while Hovendon was 2:17.98 and Rowlett was 2:18.21.
