MEDFORD, Mass. - Graduate student
Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) dropped a three-set match to Neel Epstein (New York, N.Y.) of Middlebury in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional semifinals on Sunday morning at Tufts.
Kahler is the first Engineer to play in a semifinal at the ITA Regional since Alex Cauneac in 2015-16. Kahler advanced to the quarterfinals last year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The sixth-ranked Kahler took on ninth-ranked Epstein for a chance to advance to the championship match. Kahler made quick work in the first set with a 6-1 win, but Epstein rallied to win the next two sets, 6-1, 6-4.
UP NEXT:
- The Engineers will wrap up the fall season next weekend at the Skidmore Invitational which will run from Friday, October 11-Sunday, October 13.
