CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's tennis team will advance to the program's 26th NEWMAC Tournament Championship with a 4-0 win over Springfield on Friday afternoon on the DuPont Tennis Courts. 
 
THE BASICS: 

• Score: MIT 4, Springfield 0 
• Records: MIT (12-7 Overall); Springfield (10-8) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Tyler Li and Hunter Liao earned a 6-3 win over Tim Norin and Ethan Gomulka in No. 1 singles and Grant Gallagher and Rushil Patel followed with a 6-0 win over Marc Villanueva and Austin Prendiville. 
• Liam Huppke and Angelo Guzman held a 4-3 lead over Jeremy Yu and Nicholas Liu in No. 3 doubles. 
• Liao took on Angelo Guzman and earned a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles. Gallagher took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Villanueva in three singles and Yu defeated  Gomulka 6-3, 6-2 in five singles. 
• Li held a 6-3, 4-2 advantage over Prendiville in the second court while Patel had a 6-2, 5-1 against Huppke in the fourth court. 
• Youngwoo Tahk took the first set 6-2 over Phakin Thongbooncharoen and the second set was tied at four in the sixth position.
