MARLBOROUGH, Mass.- After winning the MIT Winter Invite, Grant Hu earned the NEWMAC Athlete of the Week while the 400 Free Relay Team of Evan Wong, Aitor Arrese-Igor, Bryce Roberts, and Nathan Kim earned the Relay Team of the Week.
Hu's lead-off leg of the 800-Free (1:36.94) is the second-fastest 200 time in program history and is the fourth fastest time in DIII. In the 400 IM, he set a new school and pool record, besting his own record that he set last year, winning in 3:51.57 to have the second fastest time in the country. In the 500 free, he swam faster than last year's invited time, winning his second individual event by clocking in at 4:26.77 for the second quickest time in DIII.
The 400 Free Relay team won the event in 2:58.32 at the MIT Winter Invitational with an NCAA B Cut mark of 2:58.32 which ranks seventh in DIII.
