MARLBOROUGH, Mass.- For the second time this season, MIT swimming and diving sophomore Grant Hu earned the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending January 19.
Hu won the 200 IM while finishing second in the 200 back and fifth in the 100 Back in the No. 7 MIT men's swimming and diving meet against Division I Boston University. Hu won the 200 IM in 1:48.44, which is currently the sixth fastest time in Division III. He swam to a second-place finish in a B Cut time of 1:48.35 in the 200 back to currently rank 18th in DIII. His 100 back time of 49.74 is a new personal best.
MIT is right back in the pool this weekend for two meets featuring top-25 teams. On Friday, January 23 the Engineers will welcome No. 2 NYU and No. 18 Williams to the Zesiger Center Pool while No. 12 Tufts will travel to Cambridge on Saturday for a 1:00 PM meet.
