WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 25 MIT men's tennis team blanked Clark 7-0 on the road on Saturday afternoon in the Engineers NEWMAC opener. 
 
THE BASICS: 

• Score: MIT 7, Clark 0 
• Records: No. 25 MIT (2-3 Overall, 1-0 NEWMAC), Clark (3-7, 0-2 NEWMAC) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• MIT won all three doubles without dropping a set. Sophomore Grant Gallagher (Irvine, Calif.) and first year SangHyuk Im (Irvine, Calif.) took a 6-2 win in No.1 doubles followed by a 6-3 win in the No. 2 court by graduate student Joseph Li (Naperville, Ill) and sophomore Shrish Choudhary (Fremont, Calif.). Junior Nicholas Liu (San Diego, Calif.) and junior Jeremy Yu (Coppell, Texas) wrapped doubles with a 6-2 victory. 
• First year Kevin Xie (Towson, Md.) made quick work in No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win. Gallagher won No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-1 and Choudhary took the top singles spot with a 6-4, 6-1 win. 
• Yu won No. 4 singles by a 6-3, 6-3 score followed by an Im win in No. 3 singles, 7-6, 6-2. Liu wrapped the day with a 7-6, 6-0 victory. 

UP NEXT: 

• The Engineers host Bates on Wednesday, March 19 at 3:00 PM while the Cougars welcome Assumption for a 3:30 PM contest.
