CAMBRIDGE, Mass – No. 3 Tufts handed No. 25 MIT a 5-2 loss in the J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble on Saturday afternoon.

Records: MIT (1-2 Overall), Tufts (2-0 Overall) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Jumbos got the first point of the match, winning two of three doubles matches. Graduate student Joseph Li (Naperville, Ill.) and sophomore Adam Sun (Glendale, Ariz.) earned a 6-2 win in No. 2 doubles over seniors Derin Acaroglu (London, England) and Lachie Macintosh (Glasgow, Scotland). 
• Senior Ryan Xiao (Cary, N.C.) earned a 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 win in No. 2 singles over junior Javier Gonzalez (Valencia, Spain). 
• In No. 5 singles, sophomore Siddharth Marathe (Pune, India) took the win over junior Andrej Djokic (Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina) 11-9 in a third set tie-break  

UP NEXT: 

• The Engineers will head to Middletown, Conn. on Friday March 14 for a 3:30 PM contest against Wesleyan. The Jumbos will play at Bates tomorrow at 12:00 PM.
