MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— The MIT Women's track & field team claimed all three NEWMAC Athlete of the Week honors following the first week of the outdoor track & field season, with senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio), junior Kate Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) and the Engineers' 4x400m Relay team each receiving accolades for the week ending 3/30/25.

Field Athlete of the Week – Alexis Boykin (Sr.), MIT

Senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) leads all of Division III in the shot put, discus, and hammer thanks to her performance at the Raleigh Relays. Facing primarily Division I competition, Boykin was fourth in the shot put on Thursday with a mark of 15.34m (50'4"). On Friday, she took ninth with a mark of 48.32m (158' 6") in the discus. On Saturday, she concluded competition with a mark of 58.12m (190' 8") to place seventh in the hammer.

Relay Team of the Week – 4X400, MIT

MIT's 4x400m relay team of Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.), Olivia Dias (East Taunton, Mass.), Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) and Krystal Montgomery (San Jose, Calif.) ranks fifth in Division III after finishing with a time of 3:47.58 to place 18th at the season opening cross-divisional Raleigh Relays. 

Track Athlete of the Week – Kate Sanderson (Jr.), MIT

Junior Kate Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) opened the outdoor season with a 10,000m personal record at the Raleigh Relays. Sanderson finished 25th at the cross divisional meet, ranking as the top Division III competitor with a time of 34:52.91. Her time sits at third in all of DIII.

Boykin, Miller, Dias, Kalyan, Montgomery and Sanderson and MIT will travel to the UMass Flagship Opener in Amherst, Mass. on Saturday, April 5.
