Boykin, Heyde, Linder Earn USTFCCCA National Honors for National Champion Women’s Track and Field

NEW ORLEANS – MIT women's track and field senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) has been named the National Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Julie Heyde was named National Indoor and Outdoor Coach of the Year and Associate Head Coach Todd Linder has been named the National Indoor and Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024-2025 season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In addition to her recognition as Indoor and Outdoor National Field Athlete of the Year, Boykin was also named the Performer of the Meet at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. At the indoor championships, she captured titles in both the shot put and weight throw and set a season best and facility record in the weight throw. At the outdoor championships, she won the shot and finished third in both the discus and hammer, setting an NCAA meet and facility record in the shot.

Alexis Boykin

  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year
    • Swept the throwing events at the 2025 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships
    • Was undefeated against NCAA DIII competition during the indoor season
    • Her winning mark of PR 20.91m (68-7¼) in the weight throw was the second best effort in NCAA DIII history Boykin notched four of the top-eight marks in the NCAA DIII history during the season.
  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year
    • Capped a sensational year with a record-breaking performance at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships
    • Broke a 19-year-old NCAA DIII record in the shot put with her 16.80m (55-1½) PR
    • Finished third in both the discus and hammer at outdoor nationals
    • Won on 11 event titles in meets during the season

Julie Heyde

  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year
    • Led MIT to its first-ever team title at the 2025 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships
    • MIT scored 49 points in earning 12 individual All-American honors
    • Third woman to lead a DIII team to an indoor title
  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year
    • Led the Engineers to their first-ever team title at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships as MIT scored 56 points
    • MIT also won the team title at the NEWMAC Championships, winning 11 events
    • Sixth woman to lead a DIII team to an outdoor title.

Todd Linder

  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field National Assistant Coach of the Year
    • MIT's throws coach guided Alexis Boykin to national titles in the shot put and weight throw
    • Boykin recorded the second-best mark all-time in DIII in the weight throw
    • Boykin was just the third woman in DIII history to throw over 20 meters in the event
  • 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Assistant Coach of the Year
    • Coached Boykin, Emily Ball and Elaine Wang to a combined five All-America honors
    • Boykin won an NCAA title in the shot put
    • Linder's athletes scored 91 of MIT's 278 points at the NEWMAC Championships
