CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Graduate student Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) of the MIT men's tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America Singles Team for the second time in his career, as announced by the organization.
Kahler finished the season with an 18-8 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship. He also advanced to the semifinals of the ITA New England Regional in the fall. He finished the year ranked 23rd in Division III and seventh in the region.
The selection criteria for Division III All-Americans is the following: top 8 seed in the NCAA singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament, finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA National Small College Championships (ITA Cup).
