MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - MIT women's soccer senior Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) has been named the NEWMAC Women's Student-Athlete of the Year the Conference announced. Additionally, Barnouw will be MIT's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Barnouw was the 2024 NEWMAC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Year, helping the Engineers finish with an 11-0 record and win the program's eighth NEWMAC Tournament Championship. She earned her third NEWMAC First-Team All-Conference selection finishing with 13 goals and four assists. Additionally, she was named a College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American and a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American.
Off the pitch Barnouw earned her undergraduate degree in Computational Biology, with a minor in Neuroscience. She is co-founder of MIT's chapter of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP), where she helped bring free chronic kidney disease screenings to underserved communities in Boston while also serving as the UA Food Security Chair. Barnouw also served as a tutor through MIT's English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program.
