CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT men's lightweight crew team got the 2026-27 season underway on Saturday at the Head of the Kevin, hosted by Riverside Boat Club. Now in its third year, the regatta is held in preparation for the upcoming Head Of The Charles weekend.

"We were looking to create a good benchmark for future improvement today, and all our crews exceeded our expectations in terms of what this first outing would be," said Will Oliver-Milchman, the H.W. McCurdy '22 Director of Rowing; Gerrit Zwart '62 Men's Varsity Lightweight Crew Coach. We're very proud of this group and the effort they've put in and improvement they've achieved in just a few short weeks."
