PASADENA, Ca. - The No. 28 MIT men's tennis team held off a late rally from No. 31 Caltech to snap the Beavers' five match win streak and earn a 4-3 win on Friday afternoon.  

THE BASICS: 

• Score: MIT 4, Caltech 3 
• Records: MIT (6-3 Overall); No. 31 Caltech (7-3 Overall) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• MIT won two of three doubles to take a 1-0 lead. After dropping No. 1 singles, the Engineers rallied to take courts two and three. 
• Tyler Li and Hunter Liao held off Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne and Tejas Ram for a 7-6 (7-5) win in No. 2 doubles while SangHyuk Im and Rushil Patel earned a 6-3 win over Michael Gao and Jan Safrata. 
• Li took a 6-0, 6-4 win in four singles over Ram and Grant Gallagher followed with a win in the fifth position over Gao, 6-4, 6-4 to make the score 3-0. 
• Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne and Eric He grabbed singles wins for the Beavers in courts one and three to get the Beavers to within one, and a win from Jan Safrata in No. 6 tied the match at three. 
• The decisive point would be in No, 2 singles between Liao and Andrew Zabelo. Liao took the opening set 6-3, but Zabelo forced a third set with a 7-5 win. Liao was able to hold on for the win as he took the third set by a 6-4 score.
